Gymnastics

Coaches Profile

Jamie Ellis

Head Tumbling Instructor

   Background

Jamie has been involved in Gymnastics since he was a child.  He excelled at gymnastics and competed on the Stanford University Gymnastics team.  During that time he also trained at the US Olympics training center. Prior to coming to SSSC Jaime was an assistant coach at the University of News Mexico and head coach at the Los Angeles school of Gymnastics.  We look forward to Jamie building a great program and producing many champions here at the South Suburban Sports Complex.

Philosophy:

Jamie believes that first and foremost kids should have fun while in his class.  Secondly, he believes that they should get the benefit of becoming physically fit through gymnastics so there is lots of strength training, stretching and general exercise integrated in his classes.

If your serious about improving your skills then Jamie is the instructor for you.  Athletes will get physically fit, and progressively develop their Trampoline and Tumbling skills at the same time in Jamie's classes.

Pre-school Gymnastics

Coaches Profile

Kelly Evans

Pre-school Instructor

Kelly has been involved with pre-school instruction for over 5 years.  She also just has a degree in early childhood education. The focus in her classes is on improving the motor skills of her students to prepare them for whatever sport they later choose to pursue.

Philosophy

Kelly believes that first and foremost kids should have fun in her classes.  In early childhood development kids often struggle focusing on the training. Making the classes fun improves their focus significantly and accelerates their learning.

DANCE

Bonnie Brennan

Experience

Bonnie has been involved with dance instruction for over 18 years. Her expertise is in Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Jazz with students from 3 years old through adults. In addition to teaching dance Bonnie has choreographed and performed in many theatrical and dance productions.

Her classes in Jazz, Hip Hop and Ballet will begin June 2nd.

Philosophy

Bonnie says she "works with each student as an individual searching for their special way to learn. Every person learns in a different way and she tries to incorporate many different methods of teaching to get the most out of each student."

Basketball

Coach Profile

Scott Davis

Director of Basketball Operations

Background

Scott Davis has extensive experience in basketball. After graduating from college majoring in sports management Scott played professional basketball in Europe. His more recent experience was as the Chief of Basketball Operations at Adams Sports Management and a camp director at the Woodgate school. He also was the Sports Director for the Mokena/Washington Park YMCA. In addition to working for us Scott is a Youth Counselor in the Chicago Public school system.

Philosophy

Scott believes in life lessons that are learned from participating in sports. Hard work, discipline, competition, sportsmanship are all attributes that will help kids succeed later in life. These are attitudes he stresses in every practice and in every game. Kids that do not meet those standards are not going to stay in his basketball program.  Scott wants athletes who want to improve their game and are willing to work to make that happen. If you want to improve your game and be with kids and coaches who will support you the Wolf pack program is the place for you.
